  • HotelTech will provide a unique opportunity for the hospitality sector in the state to identify suppliers related to their sector.

The seventh edition of Kerala’s premier hospitality equipment exhibition, HotelTech Kerala, will be held from September 22 to 24, 2017 at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kadavanthra, Cochin. The event will provide a unique opportunity for the hospitality sector in the state to identify suppliers related to their sector. The show will also facilitate and provide national and local manufacturers an opportunity to meet with hoteliers, restaurant and resort owners from all over Kerala.

In recent years, Kerala has achieved a reputation of being one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. International tourist arrivals to Kerala stand at over 5 lakhs and that of domestic tourists are more than 60 lakh per year. Tourism generates over Rs. 10,000 crores for the state economy.

Kerala performs very well on all the three categories of indicators including infrastructure, institutions and inputs. In spite of the global meltdown in tourism, many international and local hotel chains are still investing in new hotel properties and upgrading existing ones in the state. A host of reputed hotel chains, including IBIS Kochi, Hyatt Kochi, have over the past year launched their new properties in Kerala.

HotelTech 2017 will showcase the following sectors – hotel supplies, hospitality and technology, equipments for hotels, restaurants and bakery, cleaning equipment & services, hospitality information systems and other services.

There will be live competitions in three-course set dinner menu, Burger & Pizza and authentic Kerala cuisine.

Besides the display competitions, live cooking competitions will also be held as the 3-day event. “The prime objective of this Culinary Challenge is to provide a professional platform where culinary professionals from across Kerala can display their individual and combined skills, creative talent, learn, share experiences, partner and network in a purely businesslike and competitive environment,” said organizers of the event.

Competitions will be held in the following categories Dress the Cake, Creative Salads, Fruit and Vegetable Carving, Hot Cooking– Fish, Hot Cooking–Chicken, Hot Cooking–Chicken, Rice Dish (vegetarian), Creative Kerala Dish-Red Meat, Mocktail Competition, Dessert Class and Three Course Menu.

The event will also give youngsters an opportunity to come up with new and innovative ideas.  The event’s aim is to create awareness about the profession of chefs and felicitate those who have excelled in the profession. While well known chefs from the hospitality fraternity will showcase their flair at the competition, students and apprentices will brainstorm for their eclectic passion for food along with the competing chefs. The general public will have the facility to watch live demonstrations by culinary enthusiasts and the renowned chefs, informed the show organizers.
